In this paper, we propose and define the concept of “sociolinguistic justice” by exploring a community-engaged, academic outreach program in California. This program guides youth of diverse linguistic, ethnoracial, and economic backgrounds in carrying out creative research and art-based projects in their peer groups, families, and local communities.
